Yates Buchanan is a fashion boutique in Notting Hill, London, selling a selection of clothing, jewellery and womens accessories by up-and-coming designers. Set up by Sunna Yates and Sophie Buchanan, the boutique offers unique pieces, sourced globally, appealing to customers wanting something original and different to the big labels.

In order to ensure that customers enjoy their time spent in the shop, Sunna Yates creates a personal shopping experience by sharing her passion for some of these must-have originals and advising individual customers on choices and styles.

Making the right choice

As the boutique continued to gain popularity in its trendy neighbourhood, Sunna decided to look for a point of sale solution which would enable her not only to keep track of sales but also save time on stock checks. As a result, Sunna looked at a number of EPoS (electronic point of sale) solutions and selected AccuPOS. AccuPOS continues to bring benefits to boutique owner Sunna Yates. While previously, all stock take, sales reports and accounting activities were done manually, Yates Buchanan can now process sales at maximum speed while taking advantage of detailed transaction reports and detailed line item sales while eliminating errors usually associated with manual processes."Having AccuPOS in place saves us a lot of time as any sales we make, automatically links into our accounting system , says Sunna. We used to write down everything we sold on any given day. Now, with the touch of a button, we can review not only a days sales but look back at what we sold weeks ago and at what price."

The solution allows staff to check prices, add discounts, print receipts and store customer records where necessary. The inventory database is updated as soon as a purchase is made. Sunna commented:" It is very quick and easy to conduct a stock take which tells me exactly how much the value of my total stock is. I used to pay a fortune for an accountant. With AccuPOS I save a lot of cost as any transaction is automatically linked into my accounting system. This makes both my bank manager and my accountant very happy. "
